What Makes Competition Dance Different?
The biggest difference between being a recreational dancer and being a competitive dancer is the level of drive and character that is achieved through being on a team. When dancers are a part of a team, they are given the chance to not only to work with others, but to also improve their self-drive and motivation, as a means to positively impact them and their team. This builds dancers who want to work hard and want to excel. As a recreational dancer, your child is still given the same classes and the same quality of teaching as the competition dancers. There’s still opportunities for social growth and relationship building, but the team mentality is stronger with competitive dance.
Build Lifelong Friendships and Learn Lasting Skills
Competition dance is more than just an artistic expression. The relationships that your child makes within their team are relationships that will last long past when they walk off the stage. My sister and I are lifelong friends with the dancers that we danced with when we were younger, and these relationships would not have been achieved if we had not been competitive dancers. As a member of the competition team, you and your dancer have the opportunity to travel with the team. In our first year we traveled to so many new places and we hope to continue to expand our dancers’ knowledge of dance and the way the industry works.
Auditions
